Windmill Information Evening
Friday 10th November 2006
7.30pm - Village Hall
For
anyone interested in the Windmill and what has taken place over the last year,
you are invited to an open information evening on Friday 10th November at
7.30pm in the Village Hall. The Friends of Chillenden Windmill, who open
the windmill to the public over the summer have organised this meeting to
bring you up to
date on developments and plans for the future. We are hoping too t hat as
many of the volunteers who help out will also be there. We are also very
lucky to have as a guest Mr Allan Cox, KCC's Conservation Architect with
specific responsibility for KCC's 8 windmills. Allan
will be on hand to describe the work of his department and his particular
interest in windmills. We are
looking to recruit a few more volunteers to help with the rosta of open days
next year 2007, so if you'd like to help out and find out more information,
please come along. For more
information, please contact Eryl Shaw on 01304 841043 or
email.
Who are we? We
are a volunteer committee of local residents made up of Friends of the Windmill. We undertake the administration, financial
management, and co-ordination with KCC and other windmill organizations.
We are committed to ensure that Chillenden Windmill is kept open to the
public through the partnership of and dedication of both the local communities
and the support of KCC and other funding organizations.
The Friends of the Windmill is an active group of volunteers who help run the
mill over the summer months. A management committee organises the team,
and provides the interface with Kent Couty Council (KCC) who are the owners, as
well as the Kent Mills Group who provide the "voice" for all the mills
in Kent.
